Best Luxury Flower Deliveries

The way to my heart has always been through flowers. Roses, ranunculi, and especially peonies are household staples at my place. But while I love being surrounded by blooms and gifting them to others, I don’t always have time to pop out to my local florist or research flower shops ten hours away.

I wanted to find a one-stop shop that could deliver gorgeous flowers not just to me, but to my loved ones three states away. I put four luxury flower delivery companies to the test to see which one could wow me with their order process, selection, freshness, and delivery.

I checked out four popular options:

Each company has its own distinct vibe, offering unique finishing touches that make your order even more special. Whether you’re looking for a striking anniversary bouquet, a biweekly bloom subscription, or a sweet little arrangement for your gran, this list will help you pick your perfect provider.

Floom

The vibe: elegant, inspired, innovative.

Floom Site

Order Process

Floom knows that sometimes flowers just aren’t enough, so they let you pair your florals with items from local artisans, including yummy scented candles, coffees, and even incense. In addition to the usual line-up of accepted credit cards, you can speed through checkout using Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna.

Been burned by online flower delivery companies before? Before you even hit the checkout, Floom will give you the name of the local florist handling your order, giving you the chance to check out their work.

Style & Inventory

Floom offers a variety of gorgeous bouquets, and many of their featured arrangements are whimsical and feminine, leaning into pastels and delicate accents. They also have a few more unusual options – I immediately fell in love with the Winter Neutral Wreath, an adorable nest of dried hydrangea and bunny tail grass.

Freshness

Since I ordered a dried arrangement, I can’t speak to the freshness of their blooms. But Floom promises that their local partner florists hand-select the freshest stems for each of their bouquets.

Presentation & Delivery

Floom offers same-day and next-day delivery. As their local florists are responsible for the packaging, your mileage will definitely vary. Mine came carefully wrapped in a lovely lilac paper with a silver ribbon.

Where They Bloom

  • If you live in a big city with a lot of funky small businesses, your add-on options will likely blow you away. I checked out the options for LA and am now seriously considering moving cross-country
  • Partnering with Klarna is a very cool move on Floom’s part, as it helps make luxury florals more accessible to a larger group of people
  • They offer a reminder service through their website to let you know when a special date is coming up, which is perfect for my goldfish memory

Where They Wilt

  • If you live in a smaller town, the local florist handling your order may not offer as many cool add-ons (but that would be true regardless of which website you order through)

UrbanStems

The vibe: modern, high-end, creative.

Best Luxury Flower Deliveries

Order Process

The UrbanStems website has Shop integration, which makes ordering incredibly fast and easy if you have a Shop account. You add your personalization during checkout, and if you’re not so good with words, you can quickly choose one of their pre-written options – I went through all of them, and they’re actually pretty good! You can even record a video message to be shared with the recipient via a QR code.

Their add-on section lets you choose from gourmet cookies, deluxe candles, bath bombs, lotion bars, and even a tailored wine pairing, which is SO fun. In case you were wondering, the pairing options for my Margot bouquet included a sparkling rosé and a rich Syrah with notes of crushed violet. I chose the Syrah – yum!

Style & Inventory

They have a huge variety of designer bouquets elevated with unique modern accents, and their premium stems are handpicked for quality and arranged with intention. While The Margot is my personal favorite, they have a bouquet for everyone, from the bold and unconventional Pomegranate to the simple and elegant Pearl. I couldn’t stop browsing and imagining how each bouquet would look on my kitchen table. And I AM going to find out.

Freshness

UrbanStems is serious about sourcing the freshest flowers possible. They work exclusively with Rainforest Alliance Certified farms, taking a hands-on approach to ensure they get the freshest flowers each day for their bouquets. They even offer a freshness guarantee! My Margot bouquet lasted two weeks before starting to wilt (and smelled amazing for most of that time).

Presentation & Delivery

UrbanStems offers free shipping on all subscription deliveries and on single orders over $140. Their stems arrive wrapped in tasteful brown paper and securely boxed. They’re shipped without water to prevent bacterial growth, helping extend the longevity of your flowers. I hadn’t experienced that before, so I was a little surprised at first. I do think it made a big difference.

Where They Bloom

  • They offer a flower subscription service with pay-as-you-go and pre-paid options, allowing you (or a loved one) to receive beautiful bouquets on a regular basis
  • Subscribing to their newsletter will snag you a cool 20% off your first order, and you’ll get early access to limited edition blooms
  • They provide detailed care instructions for all flowers and plants so you can enjoy your purchases for as long as possible. They even have a separate page for peony care, which is great for me as they’re my all-time favorite flower!
  • They have outstanding add-ons, and their video message option is a fun, modern touch that will be appreciated by partners, parents, and grandparents alike

Where They Wilt

  • It’s hard to pinpoint where UrbanStems really falls flat. While I find their live plant options a little pricy, that’s really just a minor quibble

The Bouqs Co.

The vibe: lush, rustic, quirky.

The Bouqs Co. Site

Order Process

The Bouqs gives you a selection of timeless vases to choose from, though they aren’t always included in your arrangement. They do not let you check out as a guest, which can be a little annoying if you’re just planning a one-off purchase.

Style & Inventory

The Bouqs has a great selection of both dreamy cottage-core and off-the-beaten-path arrangements, from the deliciously gothic Black Magic rose bouquet to the whimsical Tilda air plant and planter set. You can even order Lego bouquets for a limited time, which my inner child absolutely loves.

Freshness

The Bouqs partners with local growers to deliver responsibly-sourced, farm-fresh flowers cut to blossom at the optimal time. In fact, they actually arrive in bud form, so you get to see their bloom in action! (This may be a con if you like your bouquets to be in maximum bloom at the time of gifting, but it’s a pro for me.)

Presentation & Delivery

The Bouqs uses FedEx and local delivery. Similar to Urban Stems, they ship their stems without water tubes, which prevents early blooming and bacterial growth. Your blooms may arrive in a vase, as a hand-tied arrangement, or unarranged in a branded box to keep them safe, depending on your order. All orders include instructions and a gift card.

Where They Bloom

  • Like Urban Stems, they offer a convenient subscription service that’ll keep your home looking and smelling good
  • I love their dedication to sustainable sourcing and eco-responsibility

Where They Wilt

  • Waiting for flowers to rehydrate and bloom may be a buzzkill for some people

Teleflora

The vibe: classic, mature, convenient.

Teleflora Site

Order Process

In addition to the usual credit cards, Teleflora offers express checkout with Amazon Pay and Apple Pay, which is great if you’re in a rush to get that apology bouquet out the door ASAP. They provide promo codes directly on their website, making it easy to snap up a deal while it’s active. The option to add chocolates, mylar balloons, or a stuffed animal to your order left me wistfully wishing for the high-end self-care items offered by UrbanStems. I think they spoiled me. My mother did love the teddy bear I included in her bouquet.

Style & Inventory

They offer a large selection of arrangements, including everyday bouquets, centerpieces, and more minimal zen arrangements. Maybe I’m just super picky, but I honestly find many of their arrangements a little generic and outdated for my tastes. I do think their bouquets could be a perfect gift for an older relative, boss, or coworker, or for someone who is just happy to have some bright, beautiful flowers around – absolutely no shame in that!

Freshness

Teleflora works with 10,000+ affiliated local florists across North America, who carefully deliver each handmade arrangement in a vase to ensure they don’t arrive damaged or dehydrated. They back their bouquets with a satisfaction guarantee.

Presentation & Delivery

They offer same-day and next-day delivery, and arrangements arrive in a vase. Depending on your order, the vase may be glass, bamboo, or even stoneware. My mom’s bouquet came in a cute mosaic vase.

Teleflora Presentation & Delivery

Where They Bloom

  • Their website is well-organized, with categories for a range of occasions from New Baby to Just Because
  • Their promo code page seems to be fairly active, saving you a chunk of change on each order
  • They have guides on their website to help you choose the perfect arrangements for weddings and funerals

Where They Wilt

  • Their arrangements could be a little more artistic and on-trend
  • Their add-ons feel a bit cliché – I’d prefer to send (and receive) a cozily-scented candle than a cheap plushie

Final Thoughts

Best Order Process: I can’t be mad at a checkout system that offers me cookies and wine. UrbanStems kills it with their ease-of-use, thoughtful perks, video messages, and fun pre-written notes. Floom comes in second with their localized add-ons, but unfortunately, certain areas benefit more than others.

Best Style & Inventory: By far the hardest category to judge, as it’s inherently subjective, and Floom, UrbanStems, and The Bouqs all boast gorgeous and varied bouquets. While I love many of the arrangements Floom and The Bouqs offer, UrbanStems’ creative, supermodern approach best suits my own sensibilities. That being said, you should check for yourself to see which one matches your vibe!

Best Freshness: I love that UrbanStems partners directly and exclusively with Rainforest Alliance Certified farms. Their commitment to protecting forests, biodiversity, and human rights makes their ultra-fresh flowers smell just a little sweeter.

Best Presentation & Delivery: If you don’t mind waiting a little longer for your flowers to blossom, both UrbanStems and The Bouqs are great options. But if you need your stems to look great right out the gate, go with Floom and pick an arrangement that includes an adorable vase.
Overall Winner: While each of these companies has something to offer, UrbanStems nails it across the board, making them my #1 choice for floral deliveries. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to order another Margot bouquet (and maybe try that sparkling rosé this time).
